Minnesota School Board Recognition Week February 22 to February 26, 2021 Minnesota School Board Recognition Week scheduled for February 22-26 Waubun, Ogema, White Earth Public School — The Minnesota School Board’s Association has set February 22-26 as Minnesota School Board Recognition Week to build awareness and understanding of the vital function elected school board members play in our society. Waubun, Ogema, White Earth Public School is joining other public school districts from across the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Week to honor local board members for their commitment to Waubun Ogema White Earth Public School and its students. “Strong schools help build strong communities – and the Waubun, Ogema, White Earth School Board devotes countless hours to making sure our schools are helping every child learn at a higher level,” Superintendent Lisa Weber said. “School board members make the difficult decisions every month – and spend many hours studying education issues and regulations in order to provide the kind of accountability our citizens expect. This year, with the pandemic, they have put in overtime.” The members serving our district and their years of service are as follows: Allan Haugo (16 Years) Christie Haverkamp (10 Years) John Zima (8 Years) Terry Dorman (4 Years) Derek Hoban (2 Years) Vikki Bevins (2 Years) Nick McArthur (2 Years) Our school District honored our school Board Members with Certificates of Recognition and special recognition at our regular School Board meeting. The Student Council gave individual treat bags and gratitudes for each member also. Thank you ISD# 435 School Board members!
