FOOD SERVICE UPDATE Unlike last spring and into the summer, we will no longer be operating under the SFSP (Summer Food Service Program). USDA has mandated that we return to operating under the NSLP (National School Lunch Program)/SBP (School Breakfast Program) programs. These are the food distribution programs we would normally follow during a school year. The greatest change for our families in moving from SFSP to NSLP/SBP is meals are no longer free for every student. Only those families who fill out the “application for educational benefits” form and are income eligible, will receive free and/or reduced meals starting again this fall. We understand that many of our families continue to find themselves in precarious financial conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. For this reason, we strongly encourage everyone to fill out the application for educational benefits. The more qualified recipients of free and/or reduced meals, the more federal and state monies become available to our district in other areas as well as in our food service department. Meal prices as are as follows: Full breakfast price- Elementary $1.15, Secondary (7-12) $1.30; Reduced breakfast price-$0.00 Full lunch price- Elementary $2.40, Secondary (7-12) $2.50; Reduced lunch price-$0.00 All kindergarten students eat breakfast for free in Minnesota! You can fill out a paper application, or new this year is the online application option! If you are in need of a paper application they are available at both schools or you can call and request to have one mailed to you. https://www.lunchapplication.com/
